This calendar estimates crowd levels at China's top 20 attractions aggregated across Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Guilin, and Chengdu. Red days mean queues of 2+ hours at major sites. Green days mean you will often have famous spots nearly to yourself. The sweet spot: light green in early March, late April (after Qing Ming), late May, early November, and early December.
